Assimilation
The assimilation of water refers to its ability to cleanse itself of pollutants. However, certain events can make this process more difficult. For example, natural disasters such as droughts or floods often lead to a sharp increase in the concentration of pollutants in wastewater, which in turn causes water and soil pollution. These situations can severely hinder assimilation, mainly because there is not enough water to effectively dilute and purify the highly concentrated wastewater.
