Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Module

A membrane bioreactor (MBR) is a wastewater treatment system that uses ultrafiltration or microfiltration membranes to remove all biomass (biomass) from purified water. The membranes used in this system have pore sizes of 0.1 μm or smaller, enabling them to remove total suspended solids (TSS) and bacteria from the treated water. Note that the membrane modules can be immersed in the aeration tank or even in a separate tank outside the aeration tank.

Membrane Bioreactor Module Functions

  • Removal of Suspended Solids

  • Dissolution of Biodegradable Substances (such as Oils, Detergents, and Fats)

  • Removal of Phosphates and Nitrogen from Water

Membrane bioreactor (MBR) modules are combined with membrane filtration to purify wastewater. This process effectively reduces biodegradable pollutants by using bacteria and pathogens. After wastewater treatment, activated sludge is separated from the treated water by a microfiltration membrane.

MBRs are used for industrial, commercial, and municipal wastewater treatment. This technology can help users improve resource recovery, reduce costs, and provide indirect economic benefits in your application. FupengWater's line of membrane bioreactors combines the features and advantages of flat sheet and hollow fiber technologies.

Our membrane bioreactors for wastewater, sludge, and water treatment are suitable for wastewater treatment of any scale and can treat virtually any raw wastewater. FupengWater is involved in every project phase, from treatment plan development to equipment supply and operator training. Our design engineers closely observe the water purification process to identify ways to improve water supply efficiency and pollution control.

Our team manages water purification and wastewater treatment applications for municipalities worldwide. These applications span a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, desalination, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, and biological treatment. These systems, manufactured by brands such as Memstar, Toray, and Hydranautics, offer rugged, reliable, and interoperable wastewater treatment system solutions. These membrane bioreactors are widely used in operations worldwide requiring MBR systems.

How Do Membrane Bioreactors Work?

Membrane bioreactors (MBRs) combine membrane processes such as microfiltration or ultrafiltration with suspended growth bioreactors. Currently, MBR systems are widely used for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment in large manufacturing plants. When used to treat domestic wastewater, MBR systems produce high-quality effluent suitable for discharge into irrigation, seawater, brackish water, or surface water sources. The design of MBR systems offers several advantages over traditional systems, including a smaller footprint, ease of leasing, and the ability to retrofit existing wastewater treatment plants. These systems demonstrate excellent performance in removing a wide range of contaminants, such as microorganisms, from wastewater.
