Mining Water Filtration Systems | Reverse Osmosis

The mining industry provides everything from oil and coal for power generation to ores and stones for metal manufacturing. Without mining, we would not be able to design modern cities or have all the necessities we call home today. As the demand for mining grows with population growth and an overall desire for technological and industrial development, so too does the need for mining, and so do the concerns about the extreme health, safety, and environmental risks that mining poses, all of which need to be addressed. These risks are a hotly debated topic in modern society, and we have a responsibility not only to the workers who provide us with these vital resources, but also to the natural world, to find ways to address them using modern mining technology.

Our Mining Water Filtration Solutions include:

Reverse Osmosis Systems

Water Softener Systems

Deionized Water Systems

Industrial Ultrafiltration Systems

Membrane Systems

Perhaps the biggest problem in the mining industry comes from waste. Mining for metals and salts often produces large amounts of waste, which is often acidic and can impact the surrounding environment or even permanently degrade natural water sources to toxic levels. FupengWater’s membrane systems can be specifically designed for any water purification need, significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by large-scale mining operations and preventing these wastes from being exposed to the surrounding environment. Purified water can be largely reused within the same mining operation, reducing contamination of local water sources. In addition, it provides a good source of water for on-site domestic use (showers, sinks, toilets, etc.).

Metal mining produces a special type of waste called tailings, which occurs on average at least once a year worldwide. Tailings are a slurry consisting of high concentrations of waste materials dissolved in water, forming a sludge that is not only harmful to the environment, but also unsightly and difficult to handle, often lingering in large ponds for decades as the heavy material seeps to the bottom of the pond and the water evaporates. Hazardous chemicals in tailings include arsenic (in gold mining), cyanide, sulfuric acid, and multiple known carcinogens. A breakthrough technology using high-pressure membrane systems can compress tailings into large blocks that can be stacked to reduce floor space and no longer pose a risk of leakage into natural water sources. This long-term, low-energy storage is made possible by FupengWater ultrafiltration systems.

Mining Solutions

As a full system integrator, FupengWater offers a wide range of water filtration solutions for the mining industry, including:

1. Packaged drinking water plants

2. Wastewater purification to meet discharge requirements (i.e. selenium)

3. General industrial process water treatment

FupengWater has provided several drinking water filtration systems to the mining industry in Asia. In addition, we also provide nitrate and selenium treatment (reverse osmosis) systems for the domestic mining industry in China. If your mining industry has water treatment needs, please contact FupengWater today.
